Premium denim brand, 7 For All Mankind, has revealed its new Spring/Summer 2021 campaign, and it features the French-American model, Camille Rowe alongside actor-meets-model, Keith Powers.
The campaign, which was shot by photographer Dan Martensen, exudes the optimism of summer by uniting the pair under the sunny blue sky of California, to play to the brand’s roots, and to represent hope.
“7 For All Mankind is excited to bring on Camille and Keith this season as they embody individuality, self-expression, and original personal style. We wanted to cast talent that reflects this season’s collection, showcasing premium denim icons that will enhance every wardrobe.” Francesca Toninato, CEO of 7 For All Mankind
When it comes to the line, expect classic denim and ready-to-wear looks. The women’s silhouettes center around the label’s most popular fit, the High Waist Cropped Straight. There’s also white denim (a summer staple), sustainability denim in true 7 style, color treatments, and vintage-inspired silhouettes that give a nod to the stylish ‘70s. For the boys, the line introduces their softest jeans to date, Left Hand Denim, along with sustainable, and cashmere-infused denim.
Heather Mee, the CMO tells us more about the collection and the campaign.
Felicity Carter: How do Camille and Keith represent the 7 For All Mankind person?
Heather Mee: Camille and Keith are both known for their distinct personal styles and each have an evident love for denim. They both have expressed that denim is an integral part of their fashion sense and how they choose to express their individuality. It was a natural fit to cast them in our campaign, as they truly embody the 7 For All Mankind qualities.
FC: Where was the campaign shot?
HM: The campaign was shot an hour north of Los Angeles in the desert canyons by photographer Dan Martensen — it was exciting to shoot with the open blue skies. We wanted to go back to our California roots this season.
FC: Tell us what we can expect from the collection…
HM: We have a lot of great timeless and classic styles; from vintage inspired fits, cut off shorts, vintage inspired sustainable denim, color treatments and clean white hues. Capturing the trend of the season, the women’s silhouettes revolve around our most popular fit, the High Waist Cropped Straight. On the men’s side, we have introduced our softest jeans to date, Left Hand Denim, alongside our sustainable and cashmere-infused denims.
FC: What did you want to convey with this line?
HM: Coming out of an unprecedented year, we really wanted to capture a sense of optimism and hope for Spring/Summer—inspiring us all to look forward and be excited to wear denim whether you are dressing it up or down. When it comes to the collection, we wanted to offer timeless pieces as well as everyday luxury styles to enhance one’s seasonal wardrobe.
FC: Which are your go-to pieces from the line?
HM: I’ve been really drawn to all the sustainable denim we launched with this season. My favorite fit being the 080 Original Bootcut in Aphrodite Blue, which is made of organic cotton and recycled fabrics and hardware.
I’m also alternating between working at the office and from home, so my go-to piece is definitely the Slim Jogger. It is a must have for when you want to look great, but still feel that elevated comfort. I love the military green color, and just ordered it in white for Spring!
